The Netra CT 900 ATCA Blade server continues Sun's long commitment to the computing needs of it's partners in the telecommunication infrastructure. The Netra CT 900 ATCA Blade server integrates multiple channels of gigabit Ethernet for bandwidth, support for SMP blades for increased performance and for the first time from Sun in a carrier grade platform, x64 blades with both Solaris and Carrier Grade Linux support. And of course, Sun will provide SPARC Solaris blades to make this a truly flexible, open and multi-architecture platform.
The Netra CT 900 ATCA Blade server is Sun's implementation of the AdvancedTCA specification in a server design. AdvancedTCA is an industry standard blades architecture targeted at the telecommunication infrastructure. From it's inception, ATCA was designed for 5-9s and 6-9s applications. ATCA is the 3rd generation blades specification from the PICMG standards body.
