This in turn relates to an optimised data centre by being able to to place more cabinets in the data centre. The simple answer to how Sun is accomplishing this is the result of the Power Distribution System (PDS) option. The PDS provides 32 amperes of current to power a full rack of products. This helps customers to better utilize data centre floor space and helps to reduce administration costs due the co-location of more products than was previously possible with smaller and less powerful cabinets. The Sun Rack 900-38 was designed to give customers maximum RUs with a smaller footprint.

The Sun Rack 1000-42 has the same quality features as the Sun Rack 1000-38, but has been designed to fit up to 42 Racable Units worth of product inside the cabinet. The rack is available in the standard or alloy design with various power options.
