The Sun StorageTek DAT 72 tape drive provides reliable, cost-effective data protection for entry-level and midrange servers and workstations. It has a native capacity of 36 GB per cartridge and a native throughput of 3 MByte/sec. And it can store up to 72 GB of compressed data, making it ideal for local backup. The Sun StorageTek DAT 72 tape drive comes in either a rackmount or desktop format, or as an internal option for many Sun servers. The rackmount configuration comes standard with 1 drive in a 1U form factor, with the option of adding a second drive. The Sun StorageTek DAT 72 tape drive protects your investment, providing reads and writes of DDS-3 and DDS-4 media for a painless upgrade path.
