Sun StorageTek Availability Suite software helps reduce disruptions to your critical business applications and data, provide rapid recovery, and enable data repurposing, providing a solid foundation for a data continuance environment. The software features a point-in-time copy capability as well as a remote mirroring capability.

- Support for the HA StoragePlus resource type in Sun Cluster 3.x environments; this enables greater performance when working with mail, news and some file services.
- The troubleshooting documentation is enhanced to assist customers in tracking issues and recovering from configuration problems or hardware failures. A list of product error codes with descriptions and probable causes is included.
- Disk-based queues enable:
* Larger local queues in asynchronous replication mode.
* Larger bursts of I/O activity without impacting application response time If a disk-based queue fills up, the remote mirror software can go to non-blocking, or scoreboarding.
- Write coalescing provides two important advantages:
* Improves the asynchronous queue?s drain rate
* Improves network bandwidth utilization yielding greater application throughput (Databases see improved transaction rates)
- Multi-threaded Asynchronous Flusher; This allows for multiple I/Os per consistency group or set on the network at one time. Remote Mirror on the secondary node will write order the I/Os using sequence numbering. This helps with network bandwith utilization and queue drain rate. The user can specify how many queue flusher threads to use (default is 2).
- Supported Platforms :The Sun StorageTek Availability Suite v3.2 software is supported on any Sun server or workstation that has an Ultra SPARC II or later processor and is running a supported version of Solaris.
The Sun StorageTek Availability Suite v3.2 software is storage independent and supports all Sun storage disks, Sun arrays and 3rd party storage that is compatible with Sun servers and Solaris.

- Warranty Level and Length :Standard 90 day software warranty
- Licensing :The Sun StorageTek Availability Suite software license is a capacity-based license. A Right-to-Use (RTU) capacity license is issued in increments of 1TB, 5TB, and 50TB of on-line master storage at the time the license is purchased. The customer is required to obtain and pay for as many licenses as there is on-line master storage capacity in the environment. (A license is not required for replicated data, such as shadow images or remote copies, or on a per instance basis, such as per server running the software.) A license is only required for the total amount of master data in terabytes. The customer is required to inform Sun when the amount of master on-line storage capacity in the environment exceeds the amount previously issued.
